Friday evening at its annual Kansas Days Banquet the Kansas Republican
Assembly (KRA) presented Rep. Kinzer with its 2007 Courageous
Conservative award. In presenting the award Keith Esau of the KRA
stated:
"The KRA gives the Courageous Conservative award to an elected official
who has stood faithfully for conservative values and principles – even
when it sometimes isn’t popular. The legislator receiving the 2007
Courageous Conservative Award is a man who I believe is a shining
example of a true conservative, both principled and effective, the
State Representative for District 14, Lance Kinzer... Republican
legislators of all stripes have come to respect Representative Kinzer’s
knowledge in many areas through his quietly disarming and well-reasoned
approach to issues. He has been a leader in writing and advancing
legislation to reign in our courts, to protect the vulnerable and the
unborn, and to hold the line on spending and taxes. His work on
Jessica’s law helped to keep it from being watered down and ensured its
passage. His approach with legislators is strong, principled, and
articulate without being confrontational. He wins people over with his
sound arguments and persuasion."
The KRA is a state wide grassroots organization of economic and social
conservatives whose interests range from tax cuts, small business, and
land use issues, to pro-life and pro-family concerns. For more
